I am a software engineer and entrepreneur with a strong interest in web technologies and computer graphics.
Currently I am an independent contractor working on some projects for GuideStar, who acquired the last startup I worked at, Philanthropedia. At Philanthropedia we tackled one of the fundamental questions in the philanthropy world — how to evaluate nonprofits. We provided our users with the results of an innovative research methodology and allowed them to donate to the top performing nonprofits in different social causes. Prior to Philanthropedia, I co-founded Redmark together with my friends from team2x. Redmark is a visual collaboration tool that allows graphical designers to easily get feedback from their customers.
Apart from web technologies and startups, I’m interested in computer graphics and visualization, which was the main focus of my research at Jacobs University. A detailed account of my published papers and the projects I’ve worked on can be found in the Vis/CG Research section.
In my free time I love to row (see here, I’m in stroke seat
